Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center (SYSUCC) is the largest integrated cancer center in southern China for cancer care, education, research and prevention. SYSUCC provides a comprehensive range of healthcare services for cancer diagnosis and treatment including surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, interventional therapy, immunotherapy, gene therapy and other therapeutic modalities. Conducting research in oncology is one of the major missions of SYSUCC, which houses the State Key Laboratory (SKL) of Oncology in South China cover a broad spectrum in oncology from basic to translational and clinical research. SYSUCC harbors a SFDA certified Clinical Trial Center (CTC) that accompanies physicians and scientists into testing new therapies. SYSUCC is affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University and is a teaching hospital. Being a major actor in cancer care in China, SYSUCC is also recognized on an international scale and has many opportunities to interact with international partners. We are now looking for a program manager that will support the center’s international development.
Description of the position:
Under the supervision of the Cancer Center Vice President, you will be an International Communication Coordinator in the Office of International Collaboration and Public Relations, under the Division of Research and Education. The job’s responsibilities include:
- Being a contact person for some of the center’s international partners and developing the center’s international network and collaborations
- Managing collaborative programs for cancer care, research and education
- Reception work concerning the visit of foreign delegations, including hospital tour and introduction, meeting organization, airport pick up and other necessary support
- Coordinating international visits of hospital delegations
- Supporting the development of the center’s international communication strategy, including maintaining the center’s English website, reviewing English PowerPoint, writing English MoUs and agreements, developing English introductive brochures and other required communication tools
- Supporting the organization of international academic conferences at institutional or departmental level
- Communicating opportunities for training abroad, scholarships and research funding
- Helping international patients
Level of Education
- Master’s degree or above, under the age of 28
- The ideal candidate would have a scientific education with an MBA on international management.
Required skills and experience:
-Excellent proficiency in English (writing and oral), native speaker is preferred
-Ability for basic communication in Chinese
-Basic computer skills and proficiency in MS office software
-At least 1 year experience abroad
-Excellent social and communication skills
-Ability for public speaking
-Dedicated, reliable, efficient and team player
-Interest to work in an healthcare environment and to involve in the cancer fight
