Introduction
An excellent opportunity for a creative, adaptable and self-motivated individual looking for new challenges, with a good command of English and with native proficiency in Chinese. This is a lab management position with two internationally famous professors working on Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision in a fast developing university.
The successful applicant will be responsible for acquiring goods for their high-tech, fast paced laboratories, communicating within an English-speaking environment with two non-Chinese professors and their students, and translating documents.
Tasks
•Lab management
?Liaison laboratory budget with the University administration.
?Contact Chinese suppliers to buy tools and equipment for their labs.
?Be the point of contact between two foreigner professors and the university.
?Support members of the lab while travelling to conferences and meetings.
•Support the non-Chinese, English speaking faculty
?ranslate documents from Chinese to English.
?Translate documents from English to Chinese.
Graduate students (robotics and computer science) will be around to help with the translation (no technical background needed).
Skills
•Native Chinese speaker
•Good command of written and oral English
•Technical skills:
?inimum: Bachelor in English, English Literature, Education, Communication, History, Anthropology, Translation, or in a related discipline (Humanities or Social Sciences).
?Preferred: Experience with translation (English to Chinese, Chinese to English).
?Preferred: Experience in a school/academic environment.
Preferred: Experience with office work.
