More than, better than
读者 Poly 问,"I like apples more than strawberries" 一句是否正确?
更具争议的有另外一个说法 "I like apples better than strawberries" 又是否正确?
I like apples more/ better than strawberries 但我们可以这样去观察这个问题:better 是 well 的 comparative degree,而 more 是 much 的 comparative degree,那我们说「很喜欢吃苹果」应是 I like apples very well 还是 I like apples very much 呢?相信大部分人都会觉得后者更顺口自然,因此 "I like apples more than strawberries" 是更合理的。
然而,I like some thing well 也不是绝对不可以说,尤其当 well 用作情状副词(adverb of manner),有别于前面的程度副词(adverb of degree)。 It is your life.
